STUDIO WORKBUSINESS APPLICATIONS

Software built around the way your business actually runs.

When a spreadsheet has become a system, or a process lives in someone’s inbox, a purpose-built web application can give everyone one reliable place to do the work.

OVERVIEW

What a business application is.

A web application is software your team or customers use in a browser: to log requests, manage jobs, track stock, book resources, approve spend — whatever the work is.

Off-the-shelf software is often the right answer. A bespoke application makes sense when the way you work is part of what makes you good, and generic tools force you to work around them.

WHEN IT FITS

You might need this when…

  • A critical process runs on a spreadsheet that only one or two people understand
  • Work is tracked across email, chat and shared documents, and things fall through the gaps
  • You pay for several tools and still copy information between them by hand
  • Off-the-shelf products need so much configuration they no longer fit
  • You need an audit trail of who did what, and when
  • Customers or partners need a way to do something without emailing your team

WHAT IT INVOLVES

What it typically includes.

  • RECORDS

    Data model

The things your business tracks — jobs, customers, requests, assets — and how they relate.

  • SCREENS

    Interfaces

Clear screens for each role, designed for the tasks people do most often.

  • RULES

    Business logic

Statuses, approvals, calculations and validation that reflect how the work really flows.

  • ACCESS

    Users and permissions

Sign-in, roles and what each person can see and change.

  • NOTIFY

    Notifications

Emails and in-app alerts when something needs someone’s attention.

  • RECORD

    History and reporting

An audit trail of changes, and the reports the business needs from the data.

HOW IT COMES TOGETHER

Start with the problem. Build the right thing.

  1. 01

    UNDERSTAND

How the work happens today, who does what, and where it breaks down.

  2. 02

    DESIGN

The data, the screens and the rules, agreed with the people who will use them.

  3. 03

    BUILD

The application built in stages, so you can see and try it as it takes shape.

  4. 04

    REFINE

Tested with real scenarios, adjusted from feedback, and prepared for go-live.

GOOD TO KNOW

How Studio projects work.

Every Studio project is scoped and quoted individually, once we understand what is needed.

Scope, timings, ownership, hosting and any ongoing support are agreed in writing before work begins.

If a ready-made product or a tool you already own is the better answer, we will say so.
